Billings Mustangs starter Takeshi Gato kept the Minneapolis Freeze hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. In 6.1 innings, Gato surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Ekagra Manasi earned the save for Billings, his 1st of the year.
Xiao-xuan Zhou helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run home run. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Mustangs.
"If we keep hitting the ball well, the wins will pile up," said Billings skipper Keith Irwin.
With the win, Billings pushes its record to 16-15.
