8-2 Coal Miners Win over Freedom Evens Season Record
|
Antioch Coal Miners starter Yoshiaga Rin kept the Philadelphia Freedom hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. The winning pitcher was Rin, now 1-0. He tossed 5 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 10. Arnaud Durand locked down his 2nd save.
Antioch first baseman Juan Mora helped the Coal Miners go up, 3-0, in the bottom of the fourth inning. With the game tied, Mora hit a 3-run home run off Philadelphia pitcher Dong-soo Bruce.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Antioch manager Julián Flores.
The defending champion Coal Miners have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 14-14 with the win.
