Raptors Cut Down Titans, 6-1
|
Omaha and Chicago met at The War Dome in front of a lively crowd.
The Omaha Raptors picked up a win at The War Dome, knocking off the Chicago Titans, 6-1. On the mound for Omaha was left-hander Jon Shipway, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Shipway, now 1-2. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2.
Omaha took the lead with one out in the top of the third when Tokaji Sato stroked a run-scoring double. That made the score 1-0 in favor of Omaha. For the day, Sato went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Shipway. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
The Titans, at 9-20, have stumbled out of the gate.
