Coal Miners Fall Short, 3-2, at Joplin
|
Rick Childress pitched a good game, but his team, the Antioch Coal Miners, still dropped a 3-2 decision to the Joplin Fireballs at The Firepit. The Coal Miners drop to 13-14 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2028 season.
Early in the game, center fielder John Haley had a run-scoring single for Joplin. It was his 23rd hit of the season and put the Fireballs on top, 1-0.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Joplin manager Nick Browning. "Our pregame was pretty good."
