3-2 Coal Miners Win over Fireballs Evens Season Record
|
The bats were silent much of the day at The Firepit. But Juan Mora conjured up just enough offense to carry the Coal Miners past the Joplin Fireballs, 3-2. Mora went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The defending champion Coal Miners have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 13-13 with the win.
Early in the game, Mora had a 3-run home run for Antioch. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Coal Miners on top, 3-0.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Joplin manager Nick Browning, "let me know."
