Caterpillars Come Back Late to Top Bombers
The Peoria Caterpillars outlasted Alfonso Alonso and the Bronx Bombers, 8-6. Alonso was impressive in the loss. The Bronx designated hitter went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win lifts Peoria to a record of 9-11.

The most important at-bat for Peoria came in the top of the ninth inning, when first baseman Carlos Souza stroked a 2-2 fastball to right for a 3-run home run, putting Peoria up, 8-6.

"Enjoyed this one," Souza told the Peoria Gazette. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
