It was a good time at The Firepit, where fans came to watch the Omaha Raptors and Joplin Fireballs get after it.
Omaha had no answer for Joplin Fireballs hurler Mack McNeil, who overwhelmed Raptors hitters as the Fireballs coasted to a 8-1 victory. Abalendu Sourabh was credited with the save for Joplin, his 1st of the season.
In the bottom of the 5th, the Fireballs grabbed the lead when Tetsuzan Araki rapped a two-out single. Joplin was trailing 1-0, when Araki hit a 2-run single off Manny Calderón to put his team in front, 2-1.
Said losing manager António Chávez: "Give the Fireballs credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
The win leaves Joplin with a record of 10-9.
