Bombers Pin 5-3 Loss on Grays
|
The South Carolina Bombers stopped the Georgia Grays, 5-3, at The Death Star. The Bombers got a big game from Fernando Castillo, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Oliver Romero picked up the win with 6.2 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 2-1. With the loss, Georgia is 14-10.
Kulaja Godambe delivered a big hit for the Bombers. The veteran shortstop belted a 3-run home run in the top of the second. The longball put South Carolina on top, 4-0. Overall, Godambe went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Castillo told the South Carolina News.
