Bumblebees Fall to .500 After Loss to Death Stars
|
Detroit Death Stars starter Sam Hatt turned in an exceptional performance against the Pasadena Bumblebees at The Death Star, resulting in a Detroit win, 4-2. Hatt, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Earning his 7th save of the year was Carl Pollard.
Detroit left fielder Masamichi Sasaki made his contribution to the Death Stars cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the day, Sasaki went 1-3 with a home run and a walk.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Hatt.
The Death Stars, now 13-5, have been playing some good baseball.
