In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Wilford Thompson left his imprint on the 7-5 Peoria win against the Antioch Coal Miners. Thompson, who is tied for 10th in the BCL in triples with 1, was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Daniel Bonnin got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 5 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Hua Tann sewed up the save, his 5th.
A key at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, the batter, Jérémy Robin, drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It made the score 4-3, Peoria, and helped them go on to win.
"Winning is not something we take for granted," Thompson said.
