Coal Miners Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Antioch rode a decent outing from starter Víctor Martínez to victory over the Bronx Bombers at Bronx Ballpark. The final score was 6-4. Picking up the save was Chong-hyeon Kim, his 2nd. The Coal Miners are off to a nightmare start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 5th win in 14 games.
Conor Borlase was a prime contributor to the Antioch win. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the fourth with two out, the 25-year old center fielder hit a 2-run single. It made the score 3-0, in favor of the Coal Miners.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Borlase told the Antioch Times.
