A nice crowd turned out to see the Detroit Death Stars and Chicago Titans clash at The War Dome.

Detroit Death Stars starter Ánibal Altichioro kept the Chicago Titans hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Altichioro, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 earned runs.

Valentín Velasco gave Detroit a good at-bat in the top of the second inning. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to help send Detroit to the win.

Velasco described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
