Caterpillars Roll Over Canadians, 9-3
|
The Peoria Caterpillars knocked off the Vancouver Canadians, 9-3, at The Cave at Barton Springs. Jack Butler, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Peoria won. The catcher went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Luca Hatch got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Canadians to 3 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Losses have been few and far between for the Canadians, who are now 11-3.
Amador Bagadion struck a blow for the Caterpillars in the bottom of the fourth when he hit a 2-run home run. It put his team ahead, 5-3. For the game, Bagadion was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Bagadion.
