Bumblebees Rally For 7-6 Win
|
Pasadena beat Philadelphia at The Hole, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Al Courtney, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win was credited to Chan De in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Florent Fontaine took the loss. With the loss, Philadelphia falls to 6-7.
In the bottom of the 8th, Pasadena took the lead on a 2-run single by Nadir Rizvi. At the time, the Bumblebees were trailing 6-5, but Rizvi's hit with two outs against Philadelphia pitcher Florent Fontaine put them in front, 7-6.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Philadelphia manager Dan Jones. "But we decided not to take it."
