The Billings Mustangs put together a convincing win at Cobb Field, defeating the Reno Raiders, 12-3. Germán Tovar was one of the hitting stars. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for Billings. Amayas Nyamu earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 7 strikeouts. The Raiders fall to 4-6 and continue their uneasy start to the 2028 season.

In the bottom of the first, Tovar had one of his most important at-bats: a grand slam home run off Almas bin Su'ud that staked the Mustangs to a 4-0 lead.
