Fernando López pitched well, but the Vancouver Canadians still lost the game, falling 4-2 to the Bronx Bombers at Bronx Ballpark. Reliever J.R. Sabean picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Fernando López took the loss. Juan Manuel was called on to finish, recording his 3rd save.
In the bottom of the seventh inning of a 2-2 tie, Bronx pinch hitter Zachary Palethorpe hit a run-scoring single. It broke the deadlock and put Bronx on top, 3-2.
"We did enough to win," said Palethorpe.
Bronx has a record of 4-5.
