Caterpillars Continue Skid Thanks to Shepherd, Mustangs
The Billings Mustangs easily defeated the Peoria Caterpillars, 13-4, at The Cave at Barton Springs, with second baseman Kevin Shepherd a main contributor to the win. He went 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Billings. Billings reliever Akihiro Hamada picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alan Gorringe absorbed the loss. The loss drops Peoria to 2-5.

Billings left fielder Germán Tovar contributed to the cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the first. For the game, Tovar went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Tovar told the Billings Citizen.
