Mora 3-4 to Power Mafia Offense
|
The New York Mafia handed the Chicago Hitmen a sound defeat, 11-3, at SouthSide Park. Jorge Mora was a main contributor to the win. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for New York. Ronald Lee earned the win to go to 2-3. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. The loss drops Chicago to 12-11.
Doug White's at-bat in the top of the fifth was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 2-2. The New York first baseman hit a run-scoring single off Brent Reed to put the Mafia up.
Mora told a New York Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
