Peoria designated hitter Amador Bagadion pounded Minneapolis Freeze pitchers at The Ice Box, but it was not enough to keep the Caterpillars from falling, 9-8. Bagadion slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Minneapolis, now 3-1, is setting the league on fire so far.
Tony Littler provided some late-game drama. In the bottom of the tenth, with no one out and a runner on 1st, Littler hit a run-scoring triple. It helped Minneapolis take the lead and grab the win.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Fernando Vargas.
