Caterpillars Hope Opening Day Win Bodes Well for Season
The Peoria Caterpillars got their 2028 season off and running with a win over the Pasadena Bumblebees at The Cave at Barton Springs. The final score was 2-1. Peoria pitcher John Leaver was named player of the game. Hua Tann closed it out for his 1st save.

Amador Bagadion said the idea of hitting a home run crossed his mind when he came to bat in the bottom of the seventh. Bagadion belted a solo home run to stake Peoria to a 1-0 lead. His 1st home run of the season came off Pasadena pitcher Mitsunari Kobayashi.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Leaver. "But I like how we're playing right now."
