Baristas Turn Back South Bay, 2-1

South Bay wasted a solid 6-inning effort from starting pitcher Adelino Vilar, losing to Silver Lake, 2-1, at Ashton Gate. The winner was Silver Lake reliever Jaime Cardenas, now 4-7. The loser was Adelino Vilar. Silver Lake is 6th in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division with a record of 72-88.
The Baristas beat the Arsenal in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Ichiyo Yano produced in the bottom of the sixth. Batting against South Bay pitcher Adelino Vilar, Yano gave his team a 2-1 lead when he hit a solo home run.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Yano.
