Aeropostales Stay Hot With 6-4 Win
|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales bested the Coronado Phantoms, 6-4, at Stars Field. Motonobu Suzuki was named player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Bart Pettifer, the winner, improved to 17-5. He held the Phantoms to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Shih-k'ai Mi recorded his 32nd save for Indian Wells.
Indian Wells grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Suzuki, who is tied for 3rd in the KSL in triples with 7, hit a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season put the Aeropostales out in front, 3-2.
"We're just feeding off each other right now," said Suzuki.
The winning continues for Indian Wells, with the latest making it 8 straight.
