Sabercats Rally For 5-3 Win
|
The Mdewanketon Sabercats faced a tough opponent in Amarillo pitcher Darryl Wallace, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Horseman Field by a final score of 5-3. Wallace went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Felipe Navarro in relief. His record improves to 2-3. John Cosman took the loss. The slumping Horseman have lost 6 straight.
This game was not decided until Israhel Kirschofer came to bat in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, the Mdewanketon designated hitter grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Sabercats took the lead, 4-3.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Amarillo manager Okitsugu Azuma.
