Banditos Take Down Spartans, 7-6
|
The Acapulco Banditos and Des Moines Spartans obliged those fans who came to Underdogs Ballpark hoping for an exciting game.
Acapulco center fielder Anastasio Buchanan picked up 3 ribbies while helping his team beat back the Des Moines Spartans, 7-6. Nobukazu Nakamura, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held the Spartans to 3 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3.
Buchanan made an early impact for Acapulco when he stroked his 19th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Banditos on top, 3-0.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Buchanan said.
Acapulco's record now stands at 71-77, placing them 4th in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division.
