Banditos Come Back Late, Nip Phantoms
|
Despite a great performance by Coronado first baseman Giampaolo Marcovicci, the Acapulco Banditos defeated the Phantoms by the score of 5-4 at Phantoms Field. Marcovicci went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Acapulco reliever Ralph Bergeron picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Zong-yuan Sang absorbed the loss. The 'W' lifts Acapulco's record to 67-72.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Coy Jacobs hit a sacrifice fly. The Banditos took the lead, 5-4.
"I was a little disappointed," said Coronado manager Jeffrey Graham. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
