Banditos Need Extra Frames to Get Past Aeropostales
|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales got a superb performance from pitcher Fred Watson, but the Acapulco Banditos still won the game, 5-2. Watson was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Acapulco reliever Aubert Licci, now 3-9. The loser was Joe Huff. The Banditos move to 65-70 with the win, while the Aeropostales drop to 80-56.
Shane Measures's at-bat in the top of the 11th was significant for the Banditos. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Acapulco leading 3-2, the catcher hit a 2-run single.
"Our team showed some spunk," said Measures.
