Cats Topple Horseman with Late Rally
|
The Amarillo Horseman got a superb performance from pitcher Leonard Lee. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fort Worth. The Cats won the game, 7-4. In spite of the loss, Lee was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The second-place Horseman have lost 5 straight games.
Had Yoriyuki Tanaka not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Tanaka hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 7-4, in favor of the Cats.
"Been a rough stretch for us," said Amarillo manager Okitsugu Azuma.
