Aeropostales Get 10-3 Win Versus Albuquerque
|
Benefiting from the performance of Apupa Ekachakra, the Indian Wells Aeropostales defeated the Albuquerque Cacti, 10-3. Ekachakra went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Aeropostales. José Díaz got the win, improving to 9-7. He held the Cacti to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Frank Cronshaw earned the save for Indian Wells, his 4th.
Early in the game, Ekachakra had a grand slam home run for Indian Wells. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Aeropostales on top, 4-0.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Ekachakra told the Indian Wells Bulletin. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
The Aeropostales saw their win-loss record go to 73-50. At the same time, the Cacti fell to 58-64.
