Acapulco catcher Bob Peters was sensational. He was 4-4 with 4 singles, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. South Bay beat the Banditos, 5-4. Peters was named the player of the game despite the loss. Lou Cove picked up the save, his 26th. With the win, South Bay has a record of 63-49. Acapulco falls to 52-60.
The South Bay win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Blaine Turner. In the top of the first, the South Bay left fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run home run. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"We found a way to get it done," Turner said.
