It might have been a rain-shorted game, but the hometown crowd didn't seem to mind.

Oklahoma City second baseman José Soto was sensational. He was 3-3 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Portland beat the Prowlers, 8-7. Soto was named the player of the game despite the loss. Portland reliever Carlos Rúbio picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Garth Daniels shouldered the loss.

Also pitching in was Portland first baseman Lai-hsiang Xiu, who hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Xiu was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Xiu.

With the win, Portland boosts its record to 9-10.
