|
The Indian Wells Aeropostales got a stellar performance from pitcher Mushanokoji Uchida, who handcuffed the Fort Worth offense en route to a 5-2 win at Stars Field. Uchida, now 7-10, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Shih-k'ai Mi was credited with the save for Indian Wells, his 23rd of the season.
In the top of the eighth, Roberto Afilhado stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Cats were trailing 5-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Luca Hatch made a terrific pitch and Afilhado flied out. Gone was the dream of a Fort Worth comeback.
The third-place Aeropostales raised their record to 68-46.
