|
Wichita got a terrific performance from pitcher Rodrigo Garza, but it wasn't enough to beat the Indian Wells Aeropostales. Indian Wells won the Bulldog Stadium contest, 5-4. Garza was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Reliever Cain Chatfield picked up the win. His record improves to 6-2. Jim Unknown took the loss. Indian Wells is now 66-44, Wichita 43-67.
It could have been a different outcome for Indian Wells, had it not been for Motonobu Suzuki, the 26-year old shortstop . Suzuki contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 13th inning to put Indian Wells up, 5-4.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Indian Wells manager Brad Anderson.
