Blazers Lose to Toreros, 5-3
|
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros racked up a win at Field de Los Layendas, bumping off the Bloomington Blazers, 5-3. Joe Good, who started for Cabo San Lucas, pitched effectively for his team. Good went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 5, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-2. Cabo San Lucas, now 8-12, is off to a slow start.
Eddy Carpentier delivered a big hit for the Toreros. The veteran first baseman belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. The longball put Cabo San Lucas on top, 4-1. Overall, Carpentier was 2-3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Carpentier told the Cabo San Lucas Daily News.
