The Fairfield Flash picked up a win at Horseman Field, knocking off the Amarillo Horseman, 6-1. On the mound for Fairfield was left-hander Alexis Garrett, who played a pivotal role in the win. Garrett got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Garrett allowed 1 earned run. Fairfield is now 60-44, Amarillo 63-40.
Tied up with the Horseman in the top of the fourth, the Flash got a boost from designated hitter Héctor De Jesús. With a runner on 1st, De Jesús saw a first pitch fastball from Leonard Lee and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Fairfield on top, 3-1.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Garrett told the Fairfield Bulletin.
