Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Wichita Wranglers got the win.
The Wichita Wranglers racked up a win at Mystic Lake Stadium, bumping off the Mdewanketon Sabercats, 4-2. James Morris, who started for Wichita, pitched effectively for his team. Morris, now 8-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs.
Juan Carlos Ramos had a go-ahead single for Wichita in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, the 23-year old catcher hit a 2-run single off Juan Zorros. His 95th hit of the season made the score 4-2.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Ramos. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
Wichita is last in the Kade Stenson League Swinging Friar Division with a record of 39-59.
