Des Moines beat Albuquerque at Spartans Park, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Shunso Aoyama, who earned player of the game honors. He was 2-2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Brahmanida Raviraj earned the win to go to 10-4. He allowed 3 earned runs on 5 hits, with 6 walks and 7 strikeouts. Donald Hoover got credit for the save for Des Moines. It was his 17th of the year.
Aoyama came through for Des Moines with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. He hit a 0-1 cutter to center field, staking his team to a 3-2 lead.
