The Wichita Wranglers went home winners at Bulldog Stadium, thanks in large part to starter John Spracklin. Spracklin silenced the Scranton Escape, enabling Wichita to grab the 5-1 win. Spracklin went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-7. The last-place Wranglers raised their record to 38-58.
With the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, first baseman Darby Caples delivered big for the Wranglers. Wichita was leading 2-1 when he belted a solo home run.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Caples.
