Maqbool Helps Arsenal Beat Phantoms
|
Bhasin Maqbool helped his team muscle past the Coronado Phantoms, 8-6. In the game, the South Bay first baseman went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Tetsuzan Eida, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 5-1. Lou Cove closed the door for South Bay, picking up his 22nd save of the year.
José Pona wielded some clout for South Bay. The third baseman had a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Arsenal. It put his team ahead, 4-2, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Pona went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
