Germán hits 2 home runs, Leads Jesters to Win
The bad news for the Mile High Mustangs: an opening day loss, 8-7, to the Jersey Jesters at McNichols Stadium. The good news: it was just game one in a long season. Earning player of the game honors was Fernando Germán. He belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The save went to Ron Anderson, his 1st this season.

Germán had one of his biggest at-bats in the top of the eighth. Facing Max Grant, the Jersey slugger hit a grand slam home run. Suddenly, what had been a 7-4 Jersey deficit turned into a 8-7 lead. For Germán, it was his 2nd home run of the season.

"Enjoyed this one," Germán told the Jersey Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
