Sabercats Go Down to Defeat, 9-7
|
Edward MacKinley added some punch to the Acapulco offense, helping them outmuscle the Mdewanketon Sabercats, 9-7. In the game, MacKinley, the 20 overall pick in the 2026 draft, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Akihito Sakei, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held Mdewanketon to 4 runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Aubert Licci recorded the save for Acapulco, his 16th of the season.
With the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the first inning, catcher Bob Peters delivered big for the Banditos. Acapulco was leading 2-0 when he belted a grand slam home run.
"We got the victory," said Peters. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
Acapulco, at 39-46, occupies 4th place in the Kade Stenson League Lou Seal Division.
