Pitcher Clarence Byrd was sensational for the Cabo San Lucas Toreros in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Bloomington Blazers. Byrd received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. The Blazers, now 8-11, continue their slow start.

In the bottom of the sixth, Tim Buck muscled up and hit a 3-run home run. It put Cabo San Lucas ahead, 3-0. For the game, Buck was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"Clarence is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Cabo San Lucas manager José Núñez.
