José Morín did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Des Moines Spartans from losing, 10-7, to the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field. Morín was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Marcos González got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 2 innings. Fort Worth now sits at 56-29, while Des Moines falls to 48-37.

It could have been a different outcome for Fort Worth, had it not been for Rana Khosa, the 25-year old second baseman . Khosa contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning to put Fort Worth up, 8-6.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Fort Worth Cats manager José Parra. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
