Acapulco got a terrific game from third baseman Rhett Cawse. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Scranton, 9-7. Cawse was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He hit 2 home runs. Scranton reliever Charles Walker picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Michael West absorbed the loss. Even with the win, the Escape have a dismal 22-61 record.

Had Rubén Rivera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Rivera hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Escape.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Rivera said.
