South Bay and Silver Lake got after it at Ashton Gate.
South Bay starter Joe Hurst put a stranglehold on the Silver Lake offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Arsenal to a 7-1 win. Hurst, now 6-7, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run.
Camden Mansel gave South Bay a good at-bat in the top of the seventh inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a bases-clearing triple to help send South Bay to the win.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Hurst.
The Arsenal, now 45-36, have won 4 in a row.
