Chiefs Hang 5-4 Loss on Banditos

The Acapulco Banditos and Champaign Chiefs provided some drama at Orange Field.
The Champaign Chiefs turned back the Acapulco Banditos, 5-4, at Orange Field. Amezwaru Ndururi was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Anthony Lawrence closed the game out for Champaign, earning his 2nd save.
Doncaster, England-born Dean Pepper came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st and the Chiefs trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to left to put Champaign on top.
"We found a way to get it done," Ndururi said.
With the win, Champaign goes to 34-45, while the Banditos fall to 37-41.
