Des Moines catcher Armando Sosa had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-7, to Silver Lake at Spartans Park. Sosa went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Silver Lake is 38-42 and Des Moines, with the loss, 46-35.
Rick Banks contributed an important at-bat in the top of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat that helped send Silver Lake to the win.
