The Wichita Wranglers got a superb performance from pitcher James Morris, but the Albuquerque Cacti still won the game, 4-3. Morris was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of 5-hit ball. Albuquerque reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Callum Butler absorbed the loss. Albuquerque is now 41-36, Wichita 30-48.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Albuquerque center fielder Félix Escobedo, facing Callum Butler, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Cacti the 4-3 win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Escobedo after the game.
