Amarillo played host to Silver Lake at the friendly confines of Horseman Field.
The Amarillo Horseman topped the Silver Lake Baristas, 5-4, in Kade Stenson League action at Horseman Field. The player of the game was Amarillo pitcher Jim Phillips. Amarillo reliever José Gonzáles picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Jon Morris was saddled with the loss.
Had Germano Lamorr not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Lamorr hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Horseman.
"We take it day by day here," said Phillips, "and today was a good one for us."
Amarillo now has a 5-game win streak.
