Beavers Go Down to Defeat, 4-1
|
The San Francisco Earthquakes got a good effort from starter António Medrano in defeating the Portland Beavers at Golden Gate Park. The final score was 4-1. Medrano, now 3-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Jonathan Martin got the save, the 6th for him this season.
Adam Kerr was 1 for 3 with a walk for San Francisco. In the bottom of the fourth, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Kerr delivered for the Earthquakes. His run-scoring ground out put San Francisco on top, 1-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Kerr told the San Francisco Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The Earthquakes keep rolling, raising their record to 11-6.
