The South Carolina Bombers went home winners at Bomber Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Oliver Romero. Romero silenced the Maple Marauders, enabling South Carolina to grab the 3-1 win. Romero got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Romero allowed 1 earned run. Anupradana Agarkar earned the save, his 5th, for the Bombers.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, left fielder Zhao-ying Gai came through big-time for the Bombers. With South Carolina leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"I like to lead by example," said Gai. "I'm glad I could contribute to a good win."
With the win, South Carolina is 9-9.
